Corporate Wellness Is Part of Your Company's Success
Every year, you struggle to balance the rising costs of employee healthcare with healthcare coverage. It's just a fact of life, and probably one of the least-fun things you do as part of your job.
The focus of a solid healthcare plan is almost always on medication and medicine. (And have you noticed there are now medications to manage the side effects of other medications?)
You have so many strategies available to reduce health costs. Have you ever considered nutrition as an option? Most of the chronic conditions your employees suffer from could be decreased through lifestyle changes that result in weight loss. Plus, it's one of the most cost-effective solutions out there!
Preventable chronic conditions are a major contributor to the costs of health insurance premiums and employee medical claims, which are at an all-time high and continue to rise in the United States. Four of the 10 most costly health conditions for US employers—angina pectoris (chest pain), high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart attack—are related to heart disease and stroke.
And have you noticed that the behaviors that lead to obesity and related chronic diseases directly correlate to absenteeism and work performance.
Chronic health conditions and unhealthy behaviors also reduce worker productivity. Five chronic diseases or risk factors—high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, physical inactivity, and obesity—cost US employers $36.4 billion a year because of employees missing days of work.
Your insurance provider offers preventative services which covers several screenings. Many of these are encouraged annually:
- Blood pressure
- Colorectal cancer
- Lung cancer
- Breast cancer
These screenings are important. But they are all diagnostic. There is only one preventative service listed with the Affordable Healthcare Act that can actually change the course of your employees' wellness: diet counseling. Diet counseling (also known as Medical Nutrition Therapy) is the only preventative service that reduces risk and improves health for every part of the body. Not one organ is unaffected by the nutrition choices we make every day.
Imagine an Effective Way to REDUCE Annual Healthcare Costs
If your employees were encouraged to schedule an Annual Nutrition Check-up every year (just like they schedule those diagnostic screenings), what would that change for your employees and the overall organization?
Imagine a world where healthcare costs and employee premiums are reduced, employee absences are at an all-time low, and employee productivity is at an all-time high.
Now imagine this "dream" doesn't add one penny to the cost you or your employees spend in healthcare every year.
Can an Annual Nutrition Check-up really help make this dream a reality?
Bright Sky Nutrition Can Help
Oh, yes. You can make this dream a reality for your organization. Most companies don't realize that an Annual Nutrition Check-up is covered by most health insurance plans.

At Bright Sky Nutrition, we work seamlessly with the Wellness plan you currently offer your employees. We can offer on-site or virtual nutrition classes, webinars, and cooking demonstrations. There is so much information out there about nutrition. And it's all confusing! In this four-week journey, we'll break it down and discuss what's really happening. This is Nutrition 101. We start with the basics and learn why certain foods affect you the way they do. To lose weight permanently, it is essential to understand the why. Otherwise, we jump back on the diet roller coaster.
In Foundation, we will discover the science behind how the body is supposed to work, how our food choices either support or weaken our health, and we will walk away with simple tweaks to work into our meal plan immediately. These one-hour classes are critical to maintaining long-term success. And don't worry—we'll make the science-y stuff easy to understand!
In Foundation, we'll break down:
Identify and eliminate processed, pro-inflammatory foods.
Identify and eliminate processed, pro-inflammatory foods.
Recognize why certain foods drive us away from a healthy metabolism.
Understand your lab values and what they say about your metabolism and how food plays a part.

Through Transformation, Bright Sky Nutrition provides ongoing coaching, education, support, and encouragement to employees as they make the journey toward better health and nutrition. These groups are set in 12-week time frames and are provided at the low cost of $20 per person each month.
